The National Examinations Council of Tanzania (NECTA) has announced the results for the 2024 Standard Seven exams, which can be viewed here.

The Executive Secretary of NECTA, Dr. Said Mohamed, announced today, October 29, 2024, in Dar es Salaam that the overall pass rate has increased by 0.29% compared to 2023.

“The overall pass rate has risen from 80.58% recorded in 2023 to 80.87% this year,” said Dr. Mohamed.

A total of 974,229 candidates passed with grades A, B, and C. Additionally, statistics indicate that the performance in all six subjects tested has continued to improve, he noted.

In September 2024, a total of 1,204,899 candidates sat for the primary school completion examination, which represents 98% of the 1,230,774 registered candidates.

NECTA PSLE RESULTS IN 2024

Among those who passed, NECTA’s report shows that 449,057 were boys, accounting for 46%, while 525,172 were girls, representing 54%.

Furthermore, Dr. Mohamed pointed out that there is an equal pass rate for girls and boys in this year’s Standard Seven exam results.

“The quality of passing has improved in all areas, with girls showing an increase of 9%, reaching 33%, and boys with an increase of 8%, reaching 39% compared to last year,” Dr. Mohamed added.

NECTA further explains that this equal pass rate is also reflected in the quality of grades A and B, where among the 431,689 candidates who achieved these grades, girls numbered 216,568, accounting for 50.1%, while boys numbered 215,121, representing 49.9%.
